Two further studios carry the Virtual Reality and training tags on their records but publish no case study that describes a training build. They are absent below, because a tag is a claim and a case study is evidence.
How this ranking is built
The order comes from the record data, not from an opinion about the studios.
Three signals decide it. Case studies in scope carry half the weight, portfolio share in scope carries just over a third, and named clients carry the remainder. The methodology sets out why those three survived an audit and why partnerships, awards and years operating did not. The consequence is visible at the top and the bottom of the list. A studio whose entire published portfolio is training work outranks a larger studio with one training title, because share of portfolio is a signal and volume alone is not.
What the top placements rest on
The four studios at the top of this list are there because their published training work is both specific and checkable, not because their portfolios are large.
4Experience leads on portfolio share. Its published training work includes an induction programme delivered for DPD, site safety training for STRABAG and a soft skills programme for MissionOne naming Meta Quest and Pico as targets. Every case study the studio publishes is training work, which no other record in this scope matches, and that concentration is what portfolio share is measuring.
WE/AR Studio ranks second on sector spread rather than volume. Its training record runs from mine awareness work delivered for UNICEF to pathology instruction, which places clinical and humanitarian work in one portfolio. Those two audiences have almost nothing in common operationally, and a studio that has served both has demonstrated something a single-sector portfolio cannot.
Program-Ace and Bit Space Development both publish training with named institutional clients. Program-Ace documents an active threat simulation built for Gap Inc., which is retail as an employer rather than as a storefront. Bit Space Development publishes a power tool simulator built with the Manitoba Construction Sector Council, commissioned by a sector body rather than by a single employer. A named institutional client usually means a stated objective, and a stated objective is the thing most training case studies leave out.
What the evidence does not cover
None of the eight publishes a budget, a timeline or a delivery date for the work described.
That absence is the norm rather than an oversight in the research. It means this ranking speaks to what a studio has demonstrably built and says nothing about what a project cost or how long it took. A buyer needs both, and only the first is public. What drives the range on the second is set out on the Virtual Reality pillar.
Target hardware is disclosed unevenly too. Two of the eight name a headset in a training case study and the rest do not, so this page does not rank on platform and no platform claim appears against an entry.
How to use a ranking like this one
A ranked list narrows a field and does not choose a supplier, and the difference matters more here than the order does.
The three signals behind this page measure what a studio has demonstrably built in one scope. They do not measure whether a studio is available, whether it works in a given language or timezone, what it charges, or whether it is a good fit for a particular organization. None of those are public, so none of them can be ranked without inventing the evidence, and a list claiming otherwise is asserting things its sources do not support.
The practical use is as a shortlist rather than a verdict. Reading the top four or five records, following the case study links and checking whether the published work resembles the problem at hand will separate them faster than the ordering will. Two studios a single place apart are separated by a margin narrower than the difference between their portfolios, and a buyer with a specific brief will often prefer the lower-ranked one.

Training is the deepest use case in the register, and it is not confined to one sector.
The eight below deliver into construction, logistics, healthcare, manufacturing, education and aerospace. That spread is why the scope is worth ranking separately from the broader use case, which is treated on the training and simulation pillar.
