What the register is

XR Docket documents companies that build extended reality software, using evidence those companies have already published.

The register records what a company has shipped, who it shipped for, where it operates and what it builds on. Each entry carries a permanent docket number that is never reused, so a record can be cited and found again later. The full set is browsable in the register itself.

The register does not record opinions about quality, satisfaction scores, or anything a company has told the register privately. A claim that cannot be traced to something published does not enter a record.

Inclusion criteria

A company enters the register when it has published at least one case study describing work delivered for a client.

That is the whole standard. A company with a services page and no published work does not qualify, however long it has traded. The requirement is enforced in the schema rather than left to judgement, so a record carrying no case study fails validation and cannot be committed.

Verification

A record is marked verified when every field in it traces to a source URL listed on the record itself.

Evidence means published material: a case study, a platform partner directory, an awarding body announcement, a company registry entry. Each record exposes its sources, and every source carries the date it was retrieved, so a reader can see both what backs a claim and when it was last read.

Three conditions must hold together. Every non-null field traces to a source. At least one of those sources is a public case study. The record states the date it was last verified. Where a fact cannot be sourced, the field is left empty rather than estimated, which is why records vary in how much they say.

Re-verification

Every record is re-checked within twelve months of the date it was last verified.

A record that passes twelve months without a check is flagged by validation as stale. It stays in the register and keeps its docket number, and its verification date remains visible, so a reader can judge how current the entry is rather than being told it is fresh. Stale records are re-read against their sources and either updated or corrected.

How ranking works

Rankings are always scoped, so the register publishes no single list of the best XR development company.

A ranking is calculated for a service, a location, an industry or a use case. Ranking within a scope is meaningful because the companies in it are doing comparable work. Ranking across all scopes at once is not, because a studio building surgical training and a studio building retail configurators are not competitors.

Six signals carry weight, and all six read from public evidence already in the record. A score that cannot be reproduced from the record data is treated as a defect in the register rather than a matter of editorial discretion.

What the register does not do

No company can buy its way into the register or up it.

Placement is never sold, and no ranking position, badge or listing is available for payment. Anyone may submit a company for consideration, but a submission is an input rather than a listing: nothing appears until it has been verified against published sources, and submitting confers no advantage in any ranking.

The register also makes no claim to be complete. It documents companies that have published evidence of their work, which is a smaller set than the companies that exist.

Corrections

Report an error through the contact form, including a source for the change.

Corrections that trace to published evidence are applied to the record, and the verification date is updated when they are. A correction without a source cannot be applied, because it would break the rule that every field traces to something a reader can check.
